The aim of the project is to develop a decision support system based on geographic information systems that makes the operation and planning of public transportation systems more efficient in order to alleviate the urban traffic problem and reduce the use of private vehicles. In order to improve existing systems that are inadequate in areas such as capacity analysis of existing public transportation lines and line and route improvements, this project aims to optimize public transportation operations based on real-time data. The system will make a detailed analysis of the transportation network on a line, passenger and stop basis by collecting and analyzing critical data such as "bus occupancy" and "boarding information", thus allowing more effective decisions to be made and the right strategies to be implemented for the management of urban transportation.
